Decorating for fall can seem like a challenge, especially for an outdoor patio area. To help keep the entertainment in the backyard, we’ve compiled some of these great fall patio decorating ideas.
- Think autumn colors
Deep reds, oranges and golds are key fall colors. Accentuate the backyard trees by bringing in these colors in a whole new way. Try adding new pillows in a rust or burnt orange color to your outdoor seating area. Or, throw a couple of earth-tone blankets out back so family and friends can enjoy those cool, crisp nights.
- Hang a wreath
Wreaths aren’t just for Christmas. Get in the fall spirit with exciting wreaths and hang them on an outdoor fireplace like the Compact Stone Outdoor Fireplace Kit. A wreath will add an air of festivity to any outdoor area.
- Hey, is that hay?
Cheap jokes aside, consider buying a small bail of hay and placing it between a few deck chairs as a make-shift, DIY end table. Be sure to keep this decoration away from an open flame, though.
- Corn, pumpkins, gourds, oh my!
What would fall be without a few staple decorations? Purchase pumpkins and gourds in varying sizes and place them around the backyard. Consider buying some candleholders and placing ears of corn to frame some candles. The Naples Fire Pit table, one of our favorite fire pit tables, has more than enough room for some of these decorating ideas.
Just because the cooler weather is kicking in, doesn’t mean the entertainment needs to stay inside. For more decorating ideas check out our “Outdoor Decorating” board on Pinterest for some of our staff favorites.
